About LMI Ltd
LMI Ltd is a family owned company which has its origins in the insurance broking business established by brothers John & Chris Collier in 1983 when they commenced trading as Collier Insurance Services from offices in Crayford, Kent. Originally established as a Financial Services and General Insurance Broker, Colliers ceased acting as a financial advisor to concentrate on general insurance in 1993.
During the 1980’s Collier Insurance Services grew both organically and by acquisition including the purchase of John Lambeth & Partners, RBG Insurance Brokers and Bellegrove Insurance Brokers, a company established in 1967, so LMI Ltd today can trace its origins back over 50 years. From 1990 to November 2010 Collier Insurance Services traded from offices in Welling, Kent and from 2000 to 2010 under new ownership.
Over the last decade John & Chris Collier further developed their business interests from their offices in Mill House, Dartford and LMI Ltd was incorporated in 2006 as a specialist commercial insurance broker to facilitate the growth of their direct commercial broking business.
In November 2010 the original Colliers business was (re) acquired by the Collier brothers and merged into LMI Ltd. At the same time LMI Ltd acquired the business of Corporate Insurance Partners, a specialist Automotive Industry broker and in February 2011 LMI was appointed to manage the specialist Licensed Trade broker Pro Pub, thus consolidating the brothers various insurance broking interests.
The Company’s success has been established on a strong reputation for quality and service built up over the last three decades and today LMI Ltd arranges all classes of personal and commercial insurance policies for its clients throughout the whole of the United Kingdom. To maintain and improve this level of achievement the company presently consists of three focused trading divisions:
- Automotive, Commercial Vehicle & Fleets
- Commercial & Business Insurance
- Household, Personal & Private Vehicle
